March 2008 "A Place for Herbs" Lisa Becklund and Kim Rebek
Professional chef Lisa Bechlund and Kim Rebek from Oklahoma Gardening discussed the benefits of cooking with fresh herbs and how to keep them growing in your garden. Fresh herbs are often under used and under appreciated by many cooks, but learning to work with fresh herbs opens up a world of unique flavors. Incorporating a variety of herbs into your diet helps to reduce sodium intake without sacrificing taste. Herbs also require a special home, and rich Oklahoma soil doesn't necessarily provide adequate growing conditions, but with the proper knowledge and skill, it is possible to grow an herb garden of your very own.
