Employee Health Assessments

OSU wants you to lead a happy and productive life.  Good health is a major part of making that happen.  Early detection and prevention of potential conditions will help assure that you enjoy better health.  A Health Risk Assessment (HRA) is a great tool to help identify potential risks for certain health conditions.  OSU offers several ways for an employee to complete an HRA.

• Seretean Wellness Center

HRA’s are provided at no charge to all benefits eligible OSU-STW employees as part of the university paid Wellness Program.  The screenings consist of a blood lipid panel (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose) and blood pressure check.  For accurate results, please fast 10 – 12 hours prior to your appointment.  The results of your screening are completely confidential and will not be shared with anyone.  The assessment takes about 10 minutes and you will receive your results before you leave.

HRA’s are conducted by appointment only at the Seretean Wellness Center.  Please contact Tabi Deal at 744-2354 or tabi.deal@okstate.edu  to schedule an appointment.

• Catapult Health

OSU has partnered with Catapult Health and Blue Cross Blue Shield (BCBS) to bring comprehensive preventative health checkups to campus.  This service is offered to faculty and staff, as well as their spouses, who are benefits eligible and enrolled in OSU benefit plans.  There is no co-pay or deductible that applies and the cost will be billed directly through your BCBS insurance.

The checkups will be offered at a number of locations across campus and various dates throughout the year.  You will be able to schedule your appointment online when there are open dates for onsite Catapult visits.  The appointment takes about 45 minutes.

Your blood test involves a tiny finger prick.  The equipment Catapult uses, developed by NASA, to spin and test the blood only requires a couple of drops!  Blood tests will include a lipid panel (total cholesterol, HDL, LDL, triglycerides and glucose) as well as a liver panel.  If an abnormal fasting glucose is identified, an Hgb A1C will also be performed.  Blood pressure and Body Mass Index (BMI) will also be checked. For accurate results, it is important to fast at least 8 hours prior to testing.

You’ll be seen by a trained technician who will go through the steps of the testing and then privately by a Nurse Practitioner (NP) who will review your results with you.  You will receive a full color report of your health checkup results and health recommendations.  If you have a primary health care provider, they will send the results of your tests so you don’t have to.  If you do not have a primary health care provider, the NP can help you find one at that time – all during your appointment!

Additionally, depending on time of year immunizations and/or flu shots may be offered.

*Following completion of the Catapult Health Screening, employees will receive a $50 cash incentive in their payroll advice. Employees may complete a screening more than once a year but are only eligible for the $50 cash incentive once per calendar year. Spouses who complete a screening are not eligible for the cash incentive.
